My Space - CD Baby:Styll

July 26th, 2005
Hello everyone,

Great news. Styll will have yet another place for you to enjoy on the world wide web. I just received word from Cd baby that the styll cd baby site will be up in five to ten days. It is certainly another step forward in branching out to an ever growing audience.

Its your feedback and support that continues to propel this dream.
We are growing rapidly. Type styll into your search engine or styll standing .com and you'll find more and more pages of Styll. People are talking, and the talk is all good.

I will be posting the interview link from BallBuster magazine soon. As of right now its exclusive to Styll Finland.

I do feel all of us here together are certainly creating our own music movement.
I would also like to share one of the emails I received. Its constant feedback and support like this, that continues to keep the dream alive and well. I do sincerely thank you for all of your words and support.

Styll

Enjoy...

John,

The more that I listen to your songs, I can not understand why you were not signed yet. These recording companies must be sharing the same drugs that some of their artists are on. Your music is awesome and it is not one, two or three songs on a Cd that is awesome. It is every damn one of them. Be proud of what you have done and try your best to leave us in your dust. We will always be proud to say we knew you when you were struggling to make it. That's enough for a Styll fan. Seeing you make it is all we want. Please do it for us. The few, the proud and hooked on you.

My condolences go out to the entire Chuon family for the loss of their beloved Nolyn. Noyln lost his hard battle to a rare form of cancer.

Nolyn and I were best friends for a good couple of years throughout Junior High and High School. We were like brothers.

Though the roads of life took us in different directions, that spirit of friendship remained.

Nolyn was a great guy, funny, always trying to make you laugh, and he had a smile that was all his own.

I cannot find words to do proper justice for him or his family, other than to say he will be sadly missed.

Rest in Peace Brother. I love you Bro.

Hello all,

I just wanted to check in with everyone and give a quick update on things.
Im working on finding licensing for the Styll version of Ring of Fire. I had a few people listen and the response is amazing. I had Ivan Justifin, fuels first cd production and recording engineer, sit in on percussion.
I was also in contact with seethers and Breaking Benjamin percussionist Kevin Soffera to see if he wanted to get together and chat and see what we could do. Kevin responed with interest but is swamped at the moment, the door is open so we'll see what transpires there. Id like to have him sit in on the next cd if possible and take it from there.
A few more songs are almost complete and I cant wait to start laying them down. I think you all will be pleased with the outcome once completed.

Peace...
Styll

update
I just got an email to submit a Cd to the CBS late late show with Craig ferguson. I was also invited to submit to Letterman and my shirt had a spot on Leno. :)

Kevin Soffera of Seether and Breaking Benjamins called me Wednesday. His response" I really dig what I hear"
We talked about music, direction, goals, life, etc...
We are going to try to set a date for August to get together to play new songs, collaborate on the next Styll cd ,,,we shall see what transpires. It was a nice phone call with equal admiration for each others goals, achievements, and future accomplishments.

Styll has received an award on an internet magazine as "One of the best unsigned artists/bands"
Styll also made a "What is cool list" on a Country Ezine.
Many thanks for all of that!

A Styll Cd baby site will be up shortly. Esitmated time 2 weeks.

The New forum is in place, enjoy.

Dont forget to catch my friend Bill Goff; Friday, July 22nd at the Cozzi Cafe in Kennesaw, GA. For more info go to Bill Goff

What an excellent night! Last night I played the stage at the famous French Quarters cafe in Nashville. I received an amazing respone.I performed a new song called "Drinking man" and also "Angel Eyes" Thank you to all who enjoyed. I must tell you that the night was filled with amazing artists. It felt like one huge pay per view concert.
I also was pleased to find that recently the French Quarters was the place where Shania Twain was interviewed by Diane Sawyer.
I would like to thank Jack Scott for allowing me to play his show and for the invite back and a thanks to lori, Van, Ed, and all the awesome artists. It was certainly an honor to share the stage with all of you.
Im hoping to play in the round tonight at the commadore in at the Holiday in on 26th and Vanderbelt.
Thats it for now, we're off to sonic for breakfast :)

Another incredible night, this time at the Commadore at the Holiday Inn. I want to thank Debi Champion for letting me play her stage and for inviting me back. Once again the entire night was filled with amazing artists and musicians. I played Angel eyes and once again it was received with an amazing respone. Thank you to you all of you once again.
I was approached to join the Nashville songwriters Association International. I will be looking into this.
Thank you to the guys whom I was able to play the round with.
Chris Wallin, thanks for the chat, you rocked brother, as did you all. I know I already wrote this but it was an honor to share the stage with all of you. It was an amazing experience. I was invited back to every venue I performed. I will be back.

Safe and sound in Nashville. Taking the first day to relax from the full day of traveling and getting the computer up and running. Took in a few of the sites and eats. We're going to get a good nights sleep and prepare to take on the town tomorrow. Rain, rain, rain, but very warm. Arriving at the Nashville airport we were surrounded by nothing but guitars...very cool. There was actually a stage in the Airport with performers. They let you know right away that you arrived at one of the premier music capitols.
I was invited to play at the French Quarters cafe on Thursday night. Now, we just need to find the place and get signed in.

I will not be appearing on Nashville stage TV as previous planned. Due to conflicting schedules I will not be able to make the appearance. I do thank Debbie and Ernie for the invite and their kinds words.

I also received an invite from another major network show to send a press kit.

Styll goes mobile.
Thats right...We now have access to keep you all informed and updated 24-7, Here or there. The purchase of a laptop was made to the Styll family. Its a great way to keep eveyone informed when I am out and about instead of writing all about things when I return home. Its not like I am on the computer enough already...lol

It's also going to be quite fun with the Nashville trek. I may be playing some last minute places and will post things as soon as I know. If you happen to be in that area, stop in say hello, and get some free promos or make a purchase and help to pay for the gas to get back home. :)

A special thanks also goes out to my friend PJ. Thanks for passing the word to you know who :)

I recently did a cover of Ring of Fire which was sent to family of the Man In Black, Mr. Johnny Cash. Hopefully it was received with approval.

I want to also send a thanks to all of you on the Musik Mafia board for your amazing response. You are all helping to break down those barriers of labels from taking all kinds of music into your hearts. There is much to be said about that.

I cannot thank all of you enough that believe in Styll. All of you have backed natually what I feel inside as well; The song lives.

Keep checking back, I do hope to see some of you out there on that road of dreams.

Life works in mysterious ways. I would have never thought Styll would receive the response that is occurring from the Nashville area.
It once again establishes my theory that a good song shows no boundaries. A good song will touch all.

Styll continues to receive emails and the incredible response from all regions both statewide and abroad. Response has come to play in Australia, England, Europe, from here in the states from Florida to California. I'm looking at a possible show in April in the Nashville area with a family alumni on the Musik Mafia forum board. We're both seeing what can be done. It would certainly continue the tradition of what is taking place with different styles of music and artistry taking the stage together.

I also have another possible candidate for management that I'm going to try to bring into the Styll family. She knows her stuff...We'll see what happens.

I was in contact today with a label from Virginia. I had a nice chat with the label owner who is interested in hearing the sounds of Styll. It was a nice professional laid back discussion on the industry, goals and dreams. It is an Indie label that is growing and believes in the song. We'll see how things go.
A thanks to my friend in the biz, Kathy, for the lead.

Thank you as always to all of you for your continued support.

Sincerely,

Styll

Styll has now been contacted by six labels, two talk shows and counting.

February 14th, 2005
An e mail was received from Carol Hall suggesting that Styll attends a Musik Mafia Misfits show in Nashville. The Mafia Misfits is the farm team for the Musik Mafia which core consist of Big n Rich, Gretchen Wilson, Dean Hall, James Otto, and many other talented singer/songwriters/composers/and musicians.
Styll has received 5 label and 2 talk shows inquiries to date. The label inquiry feedback is" we love what we hear" You have it" we just do not know how to promote you. Which only makes that much more sense to perform with the misfits. This extraordinary group consists of extremely talented individuals whom the industry, although feels is deserving and worthy, has no outlet to incorporate into their roster. The Musik Mafia is looking to change the standards of the industry as they set out on a revolution of life, spirit, and music.
