Styll Headlines for August 16, 2004
Hello everyone, First of let me apologize for the lapse in updates. This summer has brought many ups and many downs. Let me start from the top: Starting in June we started to experience many site and server problems due to viruses and server reliablility. After several server changes it seems like we have finally found the new home for styllstanding.com. Along with that came tons of reformatting and code changes. Needless to say we are now trying to catch up on the fiasco of the last 3 months. It has been frustration on all ends but all the headaches seem to have been worth it as things appear to be finally running efficiently. Second, I am sad to say that Mark Zovak has stepped down from managerial duties. Unfortunatly Mark could not give the proper time needed and felt it would be in the best interest of Styll to step aside. There are no hard feelings, all is good, we're all friends and it has been a pleasure getting to know Mark both on a business and friendship aspect. Mark still may help out behind the scenes with Promotional duties. I have always said this is not for everyone. I promote 24-7. Those around me joke that I have learned to do this in my sleep. Im sure that is not too far from the truth. Third,Styll Has performed quite consistly this summer. I would have to say that I consider this year to be a success compared to last year. The word continues to get out, the cd continues to sell, and the emails and incredible comments continue to flow in. Things keep moving in a postive direction and that is the outcome you hope for from the hard work and dedication that is put into this. Its not an easy business by no means. It is extrememly easy to get frustarted and the feeling of wanting to give up can certainly hang over you. The power of a dream when it is in your heart and soul is a powerful thing. It is very hard to turn your back and walk away from that. If you do, in my opinion, it was never really truly in your heart and soul. When you hit those down times, that can really decifer your path and wheather or not you were really whole heartedly into what you thought you believed. It really is best decribed as a marriage. You have to learn to take the good with the bad. Hopefully you experince more good than anything. In time you learn to channel the negative into positive. I have learned in life there is more positve than negative if you are willing to learn from life and its experiences. Its all apart of the path. If you can take the good with the bad and wake up the next day and still love what you do or what your trying to achieve, you're doing the right thing. I can go on endlessly on that subject. I joke that one day I will write a book, You never know. As for now that book comes in the form of lyrics and music.
Peace... STYLL

Wow. Another incredible night at the Sara Street Grill in Stroudsburg. I can not say enough good things about this place. Everytime we've played there it's nothing but open arms, positive reviews, and an all around heart felt vibe. They certainly make us feel like we've succeeded. We always get such an incredible 'high' playing there. You dont want to come down from that cloud after such an incredible night. I want to thank everyone that greeted us with a response and Diane and Willie for their patience. I also want to thank my partners in crime who took the stage with me this evening.I know they thank you as well. Excellent job guys. Sometimes you wonder if this is all real? Is this Just a dream? I have to pinch myself sometimes ! To work so hard and to receive the words one longs to hear, makes the hard times worth fighting through. Yes this is a dream. A dream of all involved and one that is manifesting eachtime we play with each new listener that becomes a part of Styll through the power of song and music. This dream is more than just a mere dream. It is life, it is reality. Is it always easy, no. But what fun would that be. Thank you to all of you who believe . STYLL

Hello All, Im back from my journey into the southern tropics. I was actually near the tip of South America. We swam with the sea turtles, some really big fish, and of course attended to the standard promotion. I made a few new friends on this trek and would like to say hello to Martina from Poland, Savio from India, and Rayna from Bulgaria. All our new friends made the journey very enjoyable and memorable. Rayna is actually an acomplished piano player in her country and is looking to get back into music soon. Best of luck to all of you and keep all of your dreams alive and well. The new cd is underway. 11 new tracks are being worked on and defined. Auditions are also underway to add some more dedicated musicians who have that desire and faith.I will be working with a guitarist/bassist this week and see where it goes. Thats about it for now. Stay true to what you believe and keep all of your dreams alive. John
